Just got back from the first Melvins show in Tacoma. My first ever completely sober show. I took my two sons to the show. Their first ever Melvins gig. I drove down to Tacoma and while looking for a parking space I drove down the alley behind Hell's Kitchen. There is Buzzo with a full head of gray hair. Kids are all excited.

We go inside and the first thing I noticed was a full table of stuff for sale. Some British guy is selling and he wrote a sign that said "please buy stuff so I can go home". Here's some of the stuff for sale:
New (A) Senile Animal t-shirt with an octopus on the front and the diver on the back with T.M. I bought this for my son. He asked what T.M. stood for. I told him it means The Melvins.
There is a Melvins Big Business tour shirt
A glow in the dark shirt with teeth
Blottersheet
Lighter
paperweight
Melvins doll
signed drum skin. Buzzo wrote your Mom's a bitch and your Dad is gay. Cody wrote: Don't fool around with gateway drugs kids. skip straight to the hard stuff. Maybe it was Jarrod I don't remember.
Vinyl from Pigs and Mangled demos
C/d from Melvins, Altamont, Porn and Big B.
T-shirts from Altamont, Big B and (Men of) Porn
The British dude looked like he was selling his personal 45 collection.
A shit-load of posters
Stickers

I go in the bar and get some napkins for our ears. My son tells me he can't get the paper out of his ear. I told him to quit fucking with it, and did he remember the peanut he put in his ear?. Well he dosen't stop playing with it and he can't get it out so I take him to the front window into some light. I look over and there is Dale Crover visiting with some older ladies, most likely relatives. They are eating some of the wonderful Hell's Kitchen food. (Kidding about the quality of the food).

Buzzo is walking around, some Tacoma skank is trying to get him to sign something.

Big B starts at 6:15 pm. Big Business sound great. They play about 4 songs and then Mr. Dale Crover joins them on stage playing guitar and singing backing vocals. Then he leaves the stage and Big Business play a few more songs. Jarrod announces that this will be their last song and Buzzo and Dale join Big B to morph into the Melvins. They play the last song from Big Business. The time is 6:45 pm. Jarrod takes a rubber band from his wrist and makes a widows peak out of his hair like Gene Simmons. Buzz looks at him and smilles. Band is now officially the Melvins.

The dual drums put out an amazing sound. Both Dale and Cody play in perfect sync with each other. I felt like I was getting hit with a wall of sound. Buzzo was left and unfortunately Hell's Kitchen has speakers and this pole that blocked him out some of the time. Cody was in the left drum kit, Dale in the right.
A highlight was Oven. Jarrod sang and the drumming was incredable.

Lots of stuff off Houdini. Lots of new songs, which both Buzzo and Jarrod sing together. This is going to be exciting times.

I knew from the reviews that there would be no encore. Melvins left the stage at 7:50 pm. 30 minutes Big Business, 1 hour 5 minutes for the Melvins. Cody and Jarrod played the whole show. Both Cody and Dale played their hearts out, you couldn't ask for any more. I can't believe they will do the whole thing over again tonight.

Tomorrow night is the Neumo's show. I will wear my Snivlem shirt. So if you see me and Bad Ronald say hello. Bad is buyin.

BTW the (A) Senile Animal Tour shirt looks strikingly like the Snivlem melvins.net shirt!

Also melvins is gay cuz some of their songs are just noise, i tell you this so you all don't buy albums and find out only one two songs is good on them.

I went to the evening show and was foolishly worried they would be tired.  Excellent show with multiple rock orgasms, drums were mind blowing.  Melvins NEVER dissapoint and I haven't seen them in this small of a venue since North Shore Surf Club days in Oly. Who else can put us in such a trance of total heart pounding, ass kicking rock?  They will always be my favorite.  DRUMS, DRUMS, DRUMS!!!  Just wish I could be in Seattle tonight.
