At the top of page 4
states that Will Smith (the jiggy rapper dude)
opened for the Melvins?
did that read that right or is it too early in the morning?

nah,  I think they are just using Will Smith as a reference for the phrase "Nod Ya Head".

read it agian:
As neutered rapper Will Smith would say, "Nod ya head." And nod they did on a hot night inside Chicago's Metro, as that tower of equipment stared down on Valentine, Livengood, and the opening act-sized crowd gathered in anticipation of The Melvins .

notice all it says is "as neutered rapper Will Smith would say....."   not "as neutered rapper Will Smith DID say..."
