Houdini is psychadelic?  Guess I haven't taken shrooms in a while. 

I have never understood trying to categorize Melvins.  You can't.  Not grunge, nor sludge, nor doom or trippy or metal or whatever. 

Category?  MELVINS.  Simple.

Houdini is pretty psychedelic, especially the second half of the album. I wish they had put Rocket Reducer #62 was the last song instead of Spread Eagle Beagle, but I'm probably in the minority on that.

You and I have different perspectives on the meaning of the word psychedelica, my friend. If I want a sock rocker, sure, Rocket Reducer it is, but if you want to know what it is like to be alone in the dark, pierced by your won fears sweat starts to break out, you feel dizzy, you fight your demons but your fear blinded you, then the choice is quite obvious.

They're a rock band. A very invetive rock band, but a rock band all the same.

It Tastes Better than The Truth was one of the worst Melvins songs ever recorded.  Savage Hippy was okay.
