Interesting, why so many songs with "Larry" in the title?  It is pretty funny, but did they have a close friend named Larry?  Just curious

Look up the definition of Prig one more time. (don't forget the King BUzzo solo EP track closely titled PORG I think)

Well, that picture from the Revolve single clears up the pig thing - I think it's become sort of a running gag for Melvins - to show that Buzz has some, uhh, affection to the pig kind, which might be just a prank by Buzzo and not the real thing. Apart from song titles, you can see Buzz using a phrase "hotter than a pig bastard" in this blog post. So... yeah.

But what about Larry? Who is he? I hope somebody will ask that in one of the interviews.

Also, I see that Melvins use some sort of cryptic symbolism in their songs (which I really like), a key to which only Buzz knows. Like, there's a lot of "green" used as a noun in different songs, and "green" doesn't seem to belong there in its literal meaning. It looks more like it's a replacement word, a symbol which probably means something else. So what if Larry is a symbol too? What do you think can Larry possibly mean?
Hmm... Death? (Larry = Grim Reaper?)

  • Death
  • Instant Death
  • Friends Before Death
Maybe I'm nuts, but it sort of makes sense to me.

ah, great, now i don't have to start a new thread to ask this question:

has "instant larry" ever been played live?  it's easily in my top 10 melvins tracks ... fucking brutal song.  that guitar solo (which mark likely played) kills!
