Melvins sounded really good at the Jefferson Theater- it has a good sound system. King Buzzo didn't say much to the crowd, just played. Dale's drums were thunderous. Tweak Bird was a great opening act- I personally liked them better than Folk Implosion, Weedeater, Down, Isis & Tomahawk. They hit the spot- their sound reminded me of the Melvins sound, but yeah the two bros were more upbeat. Not light say like the 1960s band the Monkees, a chunky sound with lighter vocals.

I really wanted to see the Melvins play with L7 in the fall of 1994, but could not make the drive from Northern Virginia to Baltimore. I worked with a young girl who sold home made jewelery at Grateful Dead shows. She could not "get into" L7's music. I had purchased a copy of *Bricks Are Heavy* by the L7, & then I picked up a copy of City Paper & saw the ad for the show in Baltimore. I had a bad cold, the girl didn't want to go, I didn't go. Damn. That was October 15, 1994 Baltimore, MD - Hammerjacks w/ L7, Wool. I am still bummed for missing that show, it was my only chance to see the L7 ever play.

After I saw the ad for the show I went over to Tower Records & bought *Stoner Witch* on cassette.

my show list:

- April 22, 2001 Washington, DC - Black Cat w/ Folk Implosion
- June 18, 2002 Washington DC - Black Cat with Isis
- May 25, 2003 Washington, DC - 9:30 Club w/ Tomahawk (& Mike Patton)
- Sept 8, 2009 - Melvins/ Down/ Weedeater at Sonar - Baltimore, MD
- Oct 9, 2012 - Melvins/ Tweak Bird - Charlottesville, VA

Billy went. There appear to be two threads for this show!

Charlottesville Virginia is south of Washington DC & Northern Virginia - west of Richmond & RTE 95 - RTE 64 westbound- you got some incredible pictures, from the Black Cat in DC I think - I saw that clear acrylic guitar up close - nice - Jefferson Theater is super nice- Melvins never sounded better to me--
