One of the extras on the dvd is an interview with Joe Preston about his time in the Melvins.
It's all a bit brief, but he mentions how he got to introduced to the Melvins and how dissappointed he was that while he was in the Melvins they concentrated on playing covers rather than new songs.

It's a good documentary, definitely worth buying.

I bought it...    its decent so far, but i've only watched about 1/4 of it ... so far, they've only shown a picture of Dale and 2 guys from some band (om?) mention how "the very first time i saw the melvins i realized that a band can completely clear a room or completely change somebodys life"

Agree.  I got to speak to him a few times here in town at shows, and he was cool as hell.

I have to admit I was  stoked when I first read about this movie (then called Heavy) and when I saw the list of bands that were going to be featured, but after I saw the trailer - about two years ago or something - I was disappointed by its lack of direction and focus, and I almost felt embarrassed to hear certain people in that movie talking about feelings and moods that we sometimes refer to as 'heavy'.

But then again, if I can pick it up for a good price, I might just will.

 I'm 99.9% positive the producers wanted Melvins music/interviews but Buzz/Dale wanted no part of it. Read that in an interview somewhere. Can you blame them? I've only seen the trailer, and the bands interviewed come off like a bunch off stoned, retarded neo-hippies. I like Dead Meadow, Om and some other bands featured, but they should just shut up and play the music.

Yeah, exactly. All the TV Eye DVDs kick ass. I don't know about #5 if it comes out though. Yow and the Qui dudes naked, interviewed in a bathtub? No go on that.
