Some guy I guess is not listening to new music and is just going through his music collection and writing about it, and in this week he wrote a little blurb about the Melvins:

The lines between hardcore punk, heavy metal and grunge were made more indistinct by bands like the Melvins, who flew the flannel and thrashed hard at the same time. As an outsider to the metal and hardcore scenes (and a doubter when it comes to grunge), I've always wondered what kind of audience is drawn to the Melvins. Aren't they too sloppy for the metalheads, or too heavy for hardcore? Or do they find the sweet spot that unites?

C+, fuck that.  I love the onion, but their music reviews suck.  They only seem to like trendy "indie" pop garbage like modest mouse or the vines.

word up on that. their features used to be a lot better, too. or at least more creative. now it's always "15 ___s that somehow involve ____."

Greasy Statement

it's just become another dumping ground for snotty/feisty pop culture writers. i go by every now and then but always realize why i stopped going to that site in the first place...
