I think it looks more like Dale's face with Buzz's hair.

hmmm, maybe they did that on purpose . . . indicating that the two men are truly the life force that IS the Melvins.

or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

I really like the style of the image.

Although the original black and white draft looks even better in my opinion
