Hanging out with a friend in Kingston the other day. Friend has no idea about music whatsoever.

I wore a Melvins shirt, and explained NOBODY EVER in our small town has ever noticed my Melvins shirt in 20 years, but when I'm downtown Toronto I get a few comments and thumbs up etc. from people off the street for wearing one.


We had parked and just crossed the road, making our way down a side street. No sooner as we're halfway down the block, a random dude sitting out on the patio of a local pub gives me an ALRIGHT!! 'MELVINS!!!' Thumbs up, right on!! comment!! as I passed him.

"Cheers" I said.

My friend was most impressed.

I love it when that happens. I had a guy at a grocery store freak out when I was wearing a Redd Kross shirt (He played in the band Jellyfish?). I was at Disneyland in July and saw a guy in a Butthole Surfers Locust Abortion shirt - I was surpised and gave him a Fuck Yeah!
