Do the Londoners still spit hep B all over their favorite bands?

I'd be throwing fists.

Hey all, it was a pretty good show all in all. Biggest surprise off the night for me was definitely Porn, the were a lot more intense and memorable than they were on the Senile Animal tour. Big Business' sound was pretty horrible where I was stood by the front of the stage and I got the impression Jared wasn't in the greatest of moods. They played a couple of new tracks which didn't seem that memorable but the highlight of their set for me was The Drift, what an awesome song! The Melvins came on after a short while and Buzz seemed to be having a great time, smiling quite a lot which is something I've never seen him do at show before. The setlist was the same as usual and it was great to see Eyeflys, Honey Bucket and Boris performed, at least I can die happy now. Again though, the sound was pretty muddy except for Buzz's guitar which sounded awesome. Also Jared never got into the crowd during Boris which I was kinda looking forward to seeing, oh well...

So in summary, great night dampened slightly by a shitty sound.

ps. for all those equipment voyeurs (like myself) I noticed Jared was using a Big Muff instead of his B:Assmaster.

First time I've been to the Rescue Rooms, very rare I venture into the East Midlands for gigs but for the Melvins you have to make these sacrifices. Porn were very, very different to last years tour. No messing about this time, just layer after layer of noise backed up by some awesome double drumming. Big Business just get tighter every time I see them, the sound wasn't great and you couldn't hear enough of Jared's bass but it did improve when Dale jumped onto the guitar. Couple of new tracks played (I think !!) and they sounded class, all looking good for the next Big Bizz album. And then came the Melvins.....  I was right underneath Buzz and he seemed to have a real intensity about him last night, just couldn't keep my eyes off the guy. Most of the set came off ASA or NWB with a few oldies thrown in, it didn't matter as it pretty much all rocked. Finished off with a completely mental version of Boris, the second half of which totally defies description !! After everyone else had left the stage Buzz played Okie from Muskogee, accompanied by the rest of the band lined up on the stairs, a real nice touch.

Got up this morning and noticed that I can hear !!!  It was definitely the quietest Melvins gig I've ever been to, probably more to do with the venue than the band maybe but I haven't spent all day saying "What??" to people so I don't feel like I've been to see the Melvins at all.
I couldn't remember my name, so I called myself Bob. Its weird being a Bob. But I'll get used to it... I'll have to.

Odd question... what time did the doors open at the gig, and what time roughly did the show end? Im going to the Brighton gig on Monday and someones picking me up afterwards, would like to give them a rough idea of the time we'll be getting out. Cheers.

Edit: Also, what merch was available? Hoping the Tshirts and Big Biz tour EPs are still there.

No problems, the ticket said doors opened at 7.30, I got there about 7.45 and went straight in so that sounds about right. I would guess Porn came on about half an hour after but I'm not too sure. I got back to the car about half past eleven so I guess the show finished about quarter past.

As far as merch is concerned, tour EP 3 was there (and very fine it is too), they had the Melvins devil head T-shirt for

Hello.
This was the first time that I had ever witnessed the Melvins live and I must say I was not disappointed!
Big Business and Porn was also spot on.

I am also the artist responsible for the poster that was for sale (and sold out) at the gig that night.
They are available from me at www.myspace.com/twoducksdisco or twoducksdisco@gmail.com if there are folk who fancy one.

And for those who need reminding of the poster...

Sorry about the shameless plug...

Wow, that's a real nice poster! Make sure to post it in this special Melvins posters thread as well: http://www.themelvins.net/forum/index.php?topic=8617.705, you might get more response to it over there!

I was right in front of Buzz, when they sang okie from Muskogie Dale was stood right above me, You could see what he had for his lunch, if you know what I mean

Very good gig, but it was very quiet.  Never seen porn before, they were awesome.
