And for a bunch of weirdos like us to comment on all of these other weirdos, well..they must be weird. Some of these folks are flying around the friggin' country to see the band..like they are following the Dead or maybe at least Phish! Almost all of them are polite, though. And they love posters, too. It still makes me think a little bit about the awkward relationship between the performer and the fan. It is lopsided at best. One of these days all of these folks are going to turn on the people that they worship. It always happens. They are going to be let down. But in the meantime, why not fly around all over the country and post messages on the internet about how Jared was seen eating pizza down the street or that Dale picked his nose in the parking lot or that Coady was very polite to someone? as decent as you just came across with this I still somehow feel guilty and ashamed of myself.   perhaps I should rethink my life.

Well, I guess he remembered me.  I don't think I'm one of the people that came off as creepy, but he was aware that I'd flown around to see them because Dan pointed it out to him.  And I love posters.  Oh well, if I ever turn on the Melvins, I guess he'll be right.  Does it make me a creep because I flew to Cali for a two shows and then came to the four that were close to where I live??  I don't think so.  I think I was pretty polite to him   

Good to see I'm not the only one that hated the Eugene crowd.  It was full of assholes.  He couldn't have been more right.

walsby is a hell of a guy.  no doubt.

but I sense this strange anger or resentment for "us".  I sensed it prior to this statement made by him.   he kinda melted down over the whole Grumpy's Disc Set thing.

I hold the man in high esteem.   but I don't get why there is an underlying negativity for people who support the melvins emphatically. attend multiple shows.  purchase mounds of schwag. etc.      I get the feeling he is irratated that someone like hanzy busted his ass and spent alot of money to support the band he loves.    to me hanzy deserves a hearty pat-on-the-back for his efforts. but then again I'm one of those "creeps" I suppose since I introduced myself to brian as "glen from the melvins.net".

I will fully admit that its a little overbearing and shows signs of a lack of life.    but at the same time to each their own.  we all find little things that bring us joy in life.  some of those things involve creepy-stalkerlike behavior but as long as its harmless so what?  a point made well by walsby in this blog.

oh guys, i like Brian's funny-sarcastic tones and personally don't see nothing more than that in his words.and Idle,about your trip to see The Melvins,what you did in my opinion is simply great!i'm exactly like you,with only that little difference,i live in Europe and i can't see them so often.they should be proud of people like you and be sure they are.

in all seriousness though...    I will politely disagree with the "funny-sarcastic tones" comment.
he means what he says.    you can feel it.    and that goes for the more positive comments like "nice" and "polite" as well.

I'm just planning ahead to next year. Hopefully I can see more shows than the five I saw this year, (six if I fly down to San Diego and miss Thanksgiving).
