i'm just glad to see that a guy who was so willing to leave his lucrative job at whole foods to roam around the u.s. in a van with a bunch of know nothing metalhead goofs, hammering out minimalist cartoons with magic markers, was willing to point out how some people will financially and emotionally go out of their way just to see a band play the same songs night in, night out for a weeks span and just how unsettling it is to see people live their lives in such a mundane way.(now THAT'S what i call a run-on sentence!)

sorry, even though i don't really fit any criteria put forth by the reluctant king other than being the coolest fan ever, but his words feel a bit elitist, almost mocking. i'd hope he was joking in being so judgmental, but the man thrives on his words being forthright and uncompromised.

sorry to hear that the fans of this band came out and supported this band, allowing them the ability to do what they love, calling you and giving you to find ample reason to leave your family and job for a month and a half,  just to make 2 and 1/2 hours of your day a little bit harder.

sheesh. damn run-ons.

One of them ended up being the sound man and he was a bit of a SST records fan. Another one was sort of a death metal guitarist with an open mind. Talking to these guys was really nice and it sort of gave me hope for the young kids of the future, similar to that unbeatable feeling of turning someone on to some cool shit that they might have never heard of.

Dude needs to get out more.

holy raked over the coals,batman!!

I just wrote a bunch of stuff as it was going on and then posted it when I got home on my blog. No editing. Maybe not the smartest thing I have ever done, but hey I was calling it as a saw it when things went along.  I don't even remember which people I met in relation to anyone on here but rest assured: most people were nice.

So, just to re-cap:
1. creepy fandom is still really weird.
2. drunk people get old real fast.
3. no matter how it read, I was appreciate of the experience.
4. The Grumpy's thing was hilarious.
5. those kids in Buffalo ARE THE FUTURE!!!

feel free to bash away!

At the minneapolis show I went up right away and dropped like $200+, thanked Mr Walsby and went to put stuff in a car.  Before I did this I asked my wife if she wanted a Big Biz shirt and she declined.  I asked her if she was sure and she said yes.  Fast forward to the end of the night after the show is well over and Brian is trying to pack stuff up, my wife is wasted and decides she needs a Big Biz shirt.  She goes over to Brian and he demurely helps her as she tries different designs and sizes.  I felt bad for him.  Sorry about that Brian.

Dearest Mr. Walsby,

Keep it real...Real dumb that is.
Your material is refreshing and honest.
I love the low brow Buk/Crumb slant.
Too bad some of the melvins.net nerds have thin skin.
  Proable pussy loafer wearers..
I would be honored to be bashed by you.
 Kinda Don Rickles like.
