It would be cool if they did "A Quick One While He's Away" by The Who... Epic song!

Yeah, great song. Would like to hear Melvins take on it. Thrones already covered it, and I'm too lazy to look it up, but fIREHOSE covered it too. It's on archive.org, a show from '89 I believe.

i put on my scratch acid - s/t ep and it was on 33rpm instead of 45rpm. First track Cannibal starting playing and it was THUNDEROUSLY EERIE and would make an INCREDIBLE Melvins cover song.
So thats my vote

Scratch Acid - Cannibal (slowed)
some others
Tom Waits - I don't wanna grow up
Neil Young - Cortez the Killer
Wipers - Potential Suicide or Over the Edge
Yardbirds - Heart full of soul
Bad Brains - Sailin' On (slowed down)
Beatles - Helter Skelter (slowed down) or Yer Blues
Black Sabbath - Snow Blind
Sleep - Dragonaut

Something from Entombed Wolverine blues would really suit Melvin's style I think.
...and they all sing the same refrain: its fun to take a trip, put acid in your veins.

Yessss. Joe Preston did a portion of this as Thrones didn't he (on a day late and a dollar short).

King Crimson - Court Of The Crimson King

King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King.mp4

this too would be awesome

RUSH-The Temples Of Syrinx(1976)HD

Heard this on the FM radio today, and immediately thought that the Melvins could fucking own this with Jared handling the vocals. I first had 2112 on 8-track in the early '80s, and later on cassette, which I should bust out. I don't listen to Rush much anymore, but the old stuff like this still stands up.

I don't think melvins have done a bad cover song ever!
Love the ones they fuck around with like the ramones song from the hat singles. Genius.

Ha that WOULD indeed be cool. I can imagine that. Think i'd prefer to hear Buzzo on vocals rather than Jared but still Melvins would get that Rush song rockin' alright.

Not that it doesn't already of course.
