I'd say "saweeet jahesus!" to that but the fact of the matter is night goat is one of those songs that needs only one bass.  that bass line must be driven by one man. at the pace he so chooses. 2 guys trying to match it up takes away from the potential thats there.  night goat needs to draaaaaaag.  it needs to torture.  thats lost a little in 2 bassists trying to coincide their playing.

Sure, but the Melvins need only one drummer.  I swear to you, for that one night, having both Trevor and Jared on Night Goat sounded absolutely stunning.  It was fun.  It worked perfectly.  They could have showed up, played only Night Goat once, leave and it would be worth 5x times the price of admission...

Weren't The Lewd the punk band that Kurdt Vandergoof left to start Metal Church?

GrimReaper

Is Metal Church the band that Buzz rips up in Neither Here Nor There? or maybe some liner notes? From Aberdeen, WA?

You're right. I found this looking around:

Funny. At work the word Lewd is blocked for pornography!

I remember Metal Church being huge on the Harbor back in the day.  I used to see sings in Roseviers ( an Aberdeen music store) for them a  lot.

Do you know the Metal Church rant Buzz made? He called someone in Metal Church gay? I think it was in Neither Here Nor There.

hey bro, that ain't saying I wouldn't have been pissing in my pants at the sight, and sound.  I'd have ate my shoe to be there. the volume of the two bassesses alone was worth 4X the admission.

I don't remember it off the top of my head,  I'd have to do some research, which I probably won't do.

As far as I know it's in the Mangled Demos booklet.  It might be in NHNT as well, but I'm not too sure.

Quote"It was there that I met an interesting blonde rocker character named Kurt Vanderhoof. He was originally from Gray's Harbor and had recently moved back to the north after spending some time living in San Francisco. He was a little vague about the whole thing but I eventually figured out he had played in Seattle punk band the Lewd. I had always really liked that stuff and was perplexed to find that he had nothing but bad things to say about them and about punk rock in general. He informed me that he had moved on to "Heavy Metal". He had a band called "Metal Church" - tight leather pants and all. Well, I was a bit confused because at that point Metal Church consisted of five guys in their mid twenties playing Iron Maiden and Scorpions covers to a handful of local high school rubes. Hmmm... I remember thinking to myself - let me get this straight, he went from being in a good band from Seattle that relocated to San Fransisco, to returning back to Gray's Harbor to start up a "heavy metal" cover band. Something seemed fishy about his story but he was not eager to answer a lot of questions. Still, he was infinity more interesting than the rest of the bozos going to that school so I continued to talk to him whenever I got the chance. He had a fairly decent knowledge of punk rock which was rare in those parts and I was bored out of my mind. As it all turned out he ended up being one of the most obnoxious jackasses I've ever had the misfortune to bump into. Here's the best part, I had no idea he was a HOMO! It really cracks me up now, and it also shows just what a half-wit he must have been to move from the gay rights capitol of the world back to a county where homosexuality was practically illegal, and it shows just how oblivious I was to what was going on out there in the real world."
Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!
