I think a melvins dub record is very do-able. dale crover is the reason. awesome idea ministry... and one that I have pondered on for some time now. but maybe your delivery was a bit off.

No need to pretend. I WAS joking. I was responding to the artist formally known as Fart Lips when he said remix albums are crappy because that means the original song didn't work in the first place. Some remix albums are crappy, depending on the remixers interpretation of it, but not all remix albums are bad.

Tipping The Lion was remixed on Electro-retard. The original version on Stag is one of the Melvins best songs in my opinion.

I actually would have never even thought of a Melvins dub concept until I read this post... and I do not know enough about Dub to even consider this.. but who knows stranger stuff has happened musically.
as for the second sentence, It is true to a degree but  I really don't want to dwell on Americas ugly history..  I'm concerned where America is headed now..  which is looking pretty scary!  NORTH AMERICAN UNION?  I live in the center hub of all this (KC,MO) and where this new super highway is being constructed and they are already flying all 3 flags there (USA, Canada, Mexico) very interesting.

Ministry Fiend is not the first person to suggest a Melvins dub album. Through the years here I know I made a mention of it and so did some others. Anaconda did I think, and maybe DubEMC did.

I'm all for a it, if it was done right and done by someone who not only is competent with the aspects of dub, but has credible albums within the genre to prove it.

However I think Kevin Rutmanis would be the better bass player suited for a great dub album.

I'd want to get Lee "Scratch" Perry to do the remixing, but I think Justin Broadrick would be a better fit for the Melvins sound.

Scratch is too old. Mad Professor does all of Lee Perry's productions now for the most part. As for Justin Broadrick.......he'd do a good job if he did a tag team on some Melvins with his now Dubstepper old friend Kevin "Bug" Martin...........NO this has to b e done by Scientist.

Not only is Reggae the coolest music around it also has the coolest covers around!

I have that first album. I would like to get the others. That album is cool to listen to on Halloween.

You want "Space Invaders" followed by "Wins The World Cup"..................they're the best ones.

One of the most awesome futuristic alien space dubs is "Sly & Robbie Stripped To The Bone By Howie B".....that is the most unique and bad-ass Dub album around. There are many MANY killer songs but one in particular "Drilling For Oil" is the most alien thing I've ever heard. You can pick this album up on cd very VERY cheap on amazon....

If you like Dub this album will blow you away BIG time. It's recorded in 99 and Sly & Robbies masters have been abducted by awesome producer Howie B who has turned the riddims into a futuristic spaceage alien Dubwise gem.

Yeah If I remember rightly I made an identical post in about 2005. I may dig it up if I can and compare it to this thread of wonder.

Kevin would be the ideal man for the Dub too by the way. His bass always sound crisp, PHATT and fonky.
