It annoyed me that he implied some of us were creepy to fly around to see the Melvins, like some of us have any other option.

He probably wrote that down without realizing all the commotion it would cause in Melvins land after he hit the 'publish post' button.

People think all kinds of things all the time, and a lot of them are stupid, make no sense, are blunt, funny, or else, but the problem is that when those thoughts are put into words and then in print or hypertext, they are interpreted as definite and truthful.

Brian probably just came home from doing that tour, late at night, and wanted to write some thoughts off of him.

And by the way, there really are some creeps out there, I never felt that he was speaking about people like myself.

Yeah I agree.  I never felt he was talking about me either, but he touched on things I  DO like fly to shows sometimes, and it pissed me off that he was clearly talking about some board members.  You are right though, there are some creepers at the shows, and lets not pretend the Melvins really attract "normals" anyway, LOL.  Just like I would want to kick someones ass for talking shit about my little brother, I feel similarly here.  But like I said I'm over it...

What's a family without some creepy freaks here and there? :D

I'm looking forward to this. As for the whole Walsby thing, I can see why some people might have felt insulted by what he wrote but I didn't think it would turn out to be such a big deal. I just found it a bit weird how people tried to explain themselves after he wrote that... anyways. I liked Manchild 3 and the Melvins cd was great. Can't wait to hear this one.
Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!

so the Makin' Love Demos is actually a pretty limited CD

I better get another copy soon, because mine has suffered the effects of heavy use  :)

Some of you are like Deadheads. I'd never think of flying just to see the Melvins or following them around the country. That's slightly insane.
I did see them on back to back nights for the first time this past August, but that's only because Buffalo & Rochester are both a 45 min drive from my house. It was pretty rare that they even played Rochester.

A message from Bill Shatner to all of you:

Exactly. Do like Idle, and make it an intercontinental trip!

Yeah generally they are on stage.
Guess you got to look at it that he never had to travel any where to see a good band they all played where he grew up.
Now if he lived where i grew up he would not think it so strange that you have to travel to see good bands, and realize that some times you have to spend 6 hours on a coach to watch a a 70 minute set sleep in a double bed with three other people then spend another 6 hours to get home but to me its part of the fun.
Also you could look at it the other way we travel to see the Melvin's but they also travel to see us....ok they may get money but we get to hear eye flys, Boris, night goat......

Chomas

Youre preaching to the choir here  8)

FartLips

to think, the dozen or so times i've seen them live, I've only traveled once to memphis to catch them, and that was only cause I got on the guest list and it was my b-day.

Have you ever visited the cabin where Evil Dead was filmed?

Idlehanz

I don't mind being called insane for travelling to see them.  I'll do it again this year.

Leroy

I live in stinky Cleveland but I was lucky that the Melvins played here the past 3 years :)
