I was wondering if the Flaming Lips know the Melvins personally.  I remember a post sometime back about the lips being at a Melvins show a couple years back and I know that when they played Portland last the flaming lips drummer was wearing a red fang tshirt who are friends of big business.  Don't the ATP curaters pick the bands they want to play with?

Fuck these ATP festivals. Too much money, it's like a corporate event.  Would be nice if they added some northeast dates around that festival though, like Buffalo.

I agree that the prices are pretty unrealistic..especially for starving students...I could pay for ten Melvins shows alone and still not pay for that ATP ticket.

Monticello's probably a 6 hr drive for me, and TJL & Melvins are two of my favorite bands, but fuck ATP, seriously. I'll hold out for a TJL reunion DVD.

Anyone who shells out that kind of cash to see this, you're as fucking dumb as the baby boomers who pay that kind of money to see The Police, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, etc, etc.
