Hey, I was there. Just got Internet access now but all I can say is wow! I talked to a few people but don't think I saw any of you! I'm still in NYC but will post a review when I get home- I was standing against the railing directly in front of Buzz and my friend got some really great pictures that I'll be sure to share.

Alright, so i got home yesterday. The Melvins show was on my first day in NYC, but i just spent 9 days there. It was an awesome way to start out the trip. So late review time.

So Webster Hall was only a 10-15 minute walk from where i was staying, and my friend and I had some drinks at our hotel and walked there. I got to the venue about 20 minutes before the doors were supposed to open and there was still a decently long line. Webster Hall is a really cool venue! When i got in I was sort of wondering where all the Melvins board members were at, i was keeping an eye out for you all but didnt see anyone. Right away I had a seat right in front of the stage and stayed there until the show started because i didnt want to miss out on having such a prime spot. I did get up once to see if there was any worthwhile merch but all they had were Houdini shirts in large and extra large and some posters. I guess it was a good thing becuase i saved money in the end by not buying tons of Melvins shit.

Right when the show started the place was packed! Buzzo came out and introduced himself and the lineup, and talked a bit about how it was their anniversary show and they had a really special set etc etc. The friend that came with me had never heard the Melvins and I think was a little surprised/blown away by it. She photographs shows a lot (for K Pop blogs and stuff, the Melvins really arent her thing haha) so like I said before, there are some really nice pictures from this show. I'm waiting for them to get sent to me and will post them today or tomorrow.

I dont want to be repetitive about this since im one of the last ones posting a review, but the 1983 set was extremely heavy and great. I was standing right in front of Buzz's speaker and could feel the vibrations through my whole body - I probably have so much hearing damage but it was worth it. Houdini was insane and better than i ever thought it would be live. I liked the change in lyrics for Lizzy, something along the lines of "spend time with your dad before he dies on the toilet." I dont know if he messes with the lyrics of that song a lot live, i've never heard it. A highlight of the set for me was hearing the Bit - it was crushing live and a pleasant surprise!

Since im a youngin the only other time i've seen the Melvins is with Big Business for their Nude With Boots tour and this was a completely different experience! I'm really happy I got to see this lineup and set. There wasnt much i would have changed if i got to choose it myself, thats how enjoyable it was. At the end of the show one of the security guards tried to pass one of the setlists into the audience but got intercepted by, i think it was Tim Moss? Anyways I left pretty quickly after it ended, so thats pretty much all i got! I'm still on a Melvins high though.
