Tomahawk, Melvins, Down, Napalm Death

Ticket prices are kind of outragous!

Scowl is in the line up also.

That's too much exertion for me these days.

One of these names does not belong...Actually WHAT show was it, when Superjoint Ritual was supposed to open for..and they got stopped at the border and that was the end of that.

....But their Stickers made it across.

I think that might have been the Tool/Tomahawk show in 2002-ish?

The SOAD boys have broad tastes. I'm actually surprised it has been so narrowly metal focused in prior years. It might be cool seeing the Lips there. Probably one of the only times the audience isn't there to hear "Do You Realize?" and instead want to hear a big psychedelic feedback fest like their late 80s/early 90s or Embryonic stuff

Saw SOAD, so many years ago, I can't even remember who they played with....All I remember is the guitarist was one of THE brownest sounding guitarists Live I've ever heard.

The guitarist from SOAD Daron and the singer Serj can't agree on how to write together and split the publishing adequately so that's why even though they still play live they haven't released a new album in 20 years.

That festival is owned by SOAD which is why they headlined the first two years but next year instead of SOAD playing at it two of their side bands are, Daron's reactivated Scars on Broadway and Shavo the bass player in SOAD has just started a new band Seven Hours After Violet.

I'm not a SOAD fan at all I just read about all sorts of heavy bands on Blabbermouth so I'm on top of all the SOAD drama between Daron and Serj and the side bands. I think Serj has just released a new solo EP too. The drummer in SOAD John, who is a right-wing guy funnily enough and used to be in Scars on Broadway, owns a comic book store and has just started releasing his own comics too.

I saw SOAD at Ozzfest 99.  No one really knew who they were yet.  Pretty sure they played first on the main stage.  They were pretty good.

I only saw them one other time about 6 months later on the Snocore tour.  Somehow they were already big enough that Bungle went on first.  There was another band after Bungle and once they were done, I realized I was standing next to Patton in the crowd.  I nerded out on him about Fantomas, Melvins on Ipecac, the rumors I heard about Venomous Concept, and whatever he was doing with Merzbow.  He was actually very conversational, but when he could tell SOAD were about to start, he politely apologized and said he was gonna go watch them from the side of the stage.

That's interesting because a lot of Bungle fans disliked SOAD because they saw Serj and his vocal style as a ripoff of Patton and the music is similar in parts too. I think Serj and SOAD have been open about being Bungle fans, I know the Korn guys were hardcore Bungle fans as were Slipknot, Mushroomhead etc.

A lot of SOAD fans used to want Serj and Patton to work together and they finally did in 2008 when they both did vocals on the same song on a soundtrack, I think it was the Russell Crowe movie Body of Lies.
