hey norecess ... yeah, there might be some Wolf Eyes that may fit your bill ... they kinda fluctuate btw Harsh Noise type stuff & more creepy atmospheric stuff ... I dig it all ... thou I like that they switch it up for variety ... check out their new one "Always Wrong" ... and the compainion release "Completely Wrong" ... some of the best stuff they've released imo ... good mix ... the harsh is full tilt but there is quiet stuff too ... more on "Completely Wrong" thou ... Actually checkout Failing Lights (Connelly from Wolf Eyes) its' more on the less abusive side of things ... or the Haunting (Connelly & his wife) ... and Dead Machines (Olson & wife) ... yeah, dig into those ... Dead Machines are kinda up the quiter alley ... creepy as fuck but not so harsh (most of the time anyway) ...

I suppose the closest thing to anything in the "noise" genre I own would have to be Lustmord, but I don't think that is considered "noise". I always assumed it was more ambient or experimental.

See ... it's all just sound ... Harsh Noise? Ambient? Experimental? Blah Blah Blah ... they're like a breath apart ... Pop? Metal? Hardcore? Free Jazz? Blah Blah Blah ... are like a huff and a puff away from that ... I donno music is music ... sound is sound ... its' all the same really ... Like tonight I listened from Pasty Cline into; Agrophobic Nosebleed remix into; a Rai compilation (Algerian Protest Folk) into; Bastard Noise into; Django Reinhardt into; some classic North Indian drone music; and ending now w/ a little Thin Lizzy ... even the hum of my fridge can be pretty cool ... I donno sound is cool ... and even in something seemingly random there is shape, motif, texture, dynamics to be found ... I mean that's why people made music in the first place ... they were intrigued by the "noise" around them in nature ...

btw, while we're on the subject, got my first (sort of) merzbow release in the mail last weekend: syr8 feat. mats gustafsson and merzbow. i also got one of the now most brutal and violent records in my collection: the olatunji concert (last coltrane recording). not gonna give a complete review but holy shit, at some points at sounds like an elephant battle or something, so brutal. the (multiple) drums are amazing (rashied ali r.i.p.), and i can't help but visualize coltrane as a dying man, blowing his guts out one last time...

Wouldn't that make you allergic to the Melvins? Adam Jones has played with them a lot over the years and is on a handful of studio releases as well as live recordings. He's best friends with King Buzzo, and Buzzo has played with Tool as well. Not to mention Divorced.

Personally I happen to like Adam Jones' contributions to the records both studio and live that he has played on. I am also a big fan of Tool so I guess that explains it.

My favorite part is the "Your fucking band is giving me a headache" sampled over and over again and then turned into mush. Every time I listen to it, I find it remarkable that I can remember certain passages (if you will) as they start to appear, while completely forgetting about them until I put the album on again.

It is an interesting experience, as the album was made by talented musicians who could have played anything but noise, and chose to play noise instead.

How did she even get in that situation to begin with? I would think she would've adequately prepared for the occurrence, sensing the headache first thing. A strange mystery...

(I still like "your fucking band..." because it voices the opinions of any down fans in the crowd. BOOSH!)
