not much too add, not only my favorite Melvins show but one of my favorite shows ever.  There was absolutely zero promotion for this show. No mention whatsoever in the Artvoice (weekly entertainment paper) and it was only added to the Town Ballroom website late last week.

Yeah, I emailed Town Ballroom a month before the show asking why they're not listing this show on their website. Got no response. It actually was listed in the Town Ballroom ad in Artvoice along with all the other shows a few weeks before, but no writeup/preview of the show.

I don't want to be all "conspiracy theorist" on this, but I think the band was left intentionally on their own with promoting this for a reason. I read on a local music board  http://www.buffaloshows.net/forums/ that this local band "Chylde" was supposed to open for the Melvins. They've got a good following locally, but are pretty much a 3rd rate stoner-rock band. Keep in mind now the guitarist for this band is also a promoter with Supernaut Booking. When told by the Melvins agent that Melvins would play the gig themselves, I'm guessing the locals probably didn't give a shit about promoting this gig. I'd be surprised if the Melvins come back to the Ballroom, which is too bad because it's a great room with great sound.
With the amount of people that were there Thursday night, it could have been held at the Tralf, or even packed into Mohawk Place or Soundlab. Shit, High On Fire, Boris & Torche have both played in those smaller clubs and had good nights. Honestly, I don't really care where they play as long as they come back next year. It's been nice the last few years not having to road trip to Cleveland for the Melvins.

I missed the show unfortunately...but I agree that it might have something to do with Chylde.
Brice, the guitarist is a total fucking douche bag and has no respect, yet does bring good bands
to Buffalo. Chylde suck, horribly. I'm still pissed that I missed this show.....
The one and only....
