I want to see the Melvins reading this forum, and commenting on the people that post.  Oh Cara, she's such a so and so.  Oh Buick, he's such a so and so.  Oh look at that post by Glen, he's such a so and so.

You don't need the Melvins. You've got a guy who knows them, their tour manager and a collaborator who would be anonymous but can'tona counta the fact that said collaborator was referred to by name by the 34-year-old. You and I and everyone else who read the passage now know yet another person known by a guy who knows that person.  Times are good.

RichieGoodtimes

You've got it all figured out...except for the parts that you're wrong about. You haven't figured out those yet.

I am 34, though. That's about all you got right.

I know there's a lot of jokes in this thread, as per usual, but why the fuck isn't there a mainstream indepedent (if that makes sense) documentary with lots of hype around pitchfork and onionavclub etc....?

Even if you don't like the Melvins, their story and POV is interesting enough to warrant some 3rd party documentary. They've toured and made interesting, different music for the past (almost) 30 years. They've had influences(and friendships) with some of the biggest bands of the past decade or two.

But they are still an underground secret. No justice. Buzzo is gonna have to shoot himself so everyone starts sucking the Melvins legacy's dick.

mainstream independent.....no, that doesn't make sense.....but be careful what you wish for

Green Sabbath

A documentary would fucking rock. After all the influence they've had in the metal underground at the least (Nola sludge scene for starters) I'm surprised no one's written a book on these guys. It's something I'll consider if I get the resources to travel around a bit, though I suppose the power of the Internet to track people down reduces the need, though it seems lame somehow.

I know they haven't had massive problems or mainstream success, but shit.....

Heck, with all the tech wizs in here, one could make a DIY documentary with all the live footage and DIY interviews over the years. Why depend on some outside venue to do it? If you had the gumption, and willing people to contibute, you could make a great one.

Someone here tried that once... it goes by "The Interview". Some, like I, deny it's existence. Others firmly believe it exists somewhere out there. We'll never know or see it.

I was here when the mythical "interview" thread was put forth. I remember the excitement, the build up, the tears, the disappointments, the fights, the agitations, the disappearance of parties involved, the occasional flare-ups, the brief re-visits of involved parties...the saga has many twists and turns.

But another go involving a collective effort hasn't been tried as far as I know in my 7 year history on this board. Some you guys have built up an extensive collection of archives and concert footage, and could also write up a great bio from amongst all the disinformation Buzz, Dale and others have contributed in ACTUAL interviews.

Angus Khan

Colin Farrell as King Buzzo's eyebrow double.  They both have lush voluminous pairs.
...and they all sing the same refrain: its fun to take a trip, put acid in your veins.

Dale and Buzz should join the circus and have a documentary about it called the Melvins join the circus.

Buick GN

I'd like to see some time spent on the boys and their following of MLB, perhaps @ Chavez Ravine..and some time spent on Dale's Challenger.
