Like a mixture of the maggot and a senile animal.

That's a pretty accurate description. I had a feeling that this would be much heavier than ASA or NWB.

Yeah!  I have to say those clips sound very promising.   I'm stoked.
Everything was beautiful, and nothing hurt.

Centripetal core of soul sojourn the field vibrates to absolution. I climb toward the sun to breathe the universal.

Have you seen the bridge?  I ain't seen the bridge!  Where's that confounded bridge?!

I don't think Buzz is recycling riffs, he just isn't moving around as much on the neck.
He's found a good comfort zone that fits in with jared's dense bass sound.

 Wow, definitely sounds like a huge improvement over the last two albums in pretty much all respects.  Can't wait to hear the whole thing.  Drums are mixed more up front.  Songs sound diverse.  Heavier parts, quieter parts.  It's a good year to be a Melvins fan.

So what are everyone's guesses about which song is leftover from the '90s?  If I had to venture a guess based on those clips I'd say Hospital Up.

I was thinking Electric Flower

EGO the Living Planet

Quoteyeah I'm pretty sure that's a harmonica

Sounds like a Melodica to me.

Melvins haved tipped their hat to Augustus Pablo...........

That's what I was thinkin'. Dare I hope for a dub-like groove on the whole song.

I like what I'm hearin'.

Mad Arab

Yes, I agree with Dubby and Ego, that is a melodica: a toy- like instrument made famous by Augustus Pablo in his dub releases.

And the people who said its a mix between The Maggot and ASA has hit the mark based on the samples. Me Likey. Me likey a lot!

The excitement builds...much better than getting spoiled right away.

Part of the riff of Pig House sounds a bit like ZZ Top's Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings. Don't you think?

Mad Arab

Based upon 30 second samples from Amazon, this album sounds like a mix between The Maggot and ASA and that my friends sounds like a winning combination. Me likey. Me likey a lot.

I can hear a lot of different eras of Melvins in there.  The Water Glass sounds very H.A.T. to me.  Evil New War God sounds a bit like the description a couple have given, a cross between Maggot and (a)S.A.  Pig House almost has a Sky Pup vibe to it.  Electric Flower sounds a bit like the last couple records with Jared's harmonizing.  Hospital Up sounds a little Bootlickerish.  If this album does leak it's going to be very difficult to resist the temptation.

Here's a novel idea.  Release the vinyl version at the same time as the compact disc.  Don't use Hydrahead, they are too slow.  Ipecac has quality control problems.  That leaves us with Amphetamine Reptile.
Fester Rules You Drool

i say i can't, but i really mean i won't.

buzzo is enviro friendly. he likes recycling riffs
what song are you referring to?

damn, this new alum is all I can think about now... on second listen those samples sound really awesome. I cant fucking wait.

Idlehanz

Love those vox on "I'll Finish You Off", and the guitar running back n forth on "Pig House".

I know we're getting 20 second clips of songs that are averaging five minutes or so, but this is really giving me a HAT vibe so far.  I can't fucking wait.  I think this is going to be the one.

nickoctane

I was willing to wait it out for June 1st but now that i've heard the samples I NEED this thing to leak. 2 more months just seems like cruel punishment at this point.
