Is there any live footage of Melvins as a four piece for the first time out there. Also, anyone know when was it that the Big Business boys were drafted in to the band? 2005/6??? Im guessing that they must have played some gigs together before (A)SA was recorded but perhaps not.

BIg Biz was touring for HFTS with High On Fire right up until a week or 2 before entering the studio for (A)SA.  I recall pestering Coady about it at the HOF/BIZ detroit gig.
he seemed slightly shocked that I knew so much about this MELVINS/BIZ marriage.  the fanboy showed through.

This was the first time I saw Melvins live.  I remember Buzz broke a string three times in a row before managing to play honey bucket
...and they all sing the same refrain: its fun to take a trip, put acid in your veins.

This is the exact article I read:  http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001844587#/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1001844587

I posted that on my Xanga page on Wednesday, January 18, 2006.  I simply said, "The Melvins are now a 4 peice band!  My mind is boggled."  I was also listening to Tomahawk's Mit Gas at the time.

The videos posted earlier in this thread were the first that I saw as well.  It seems like they eventually added a few earlier shows but I don't remember.  The tour archive says     * August 27, 2006  Glendale, CA - The Scene Bar w/ Big Business  was the first show with Big Business.  The second show was a little bit later on #
# September 06, 2006 Sacramento, CA - The Library w/ Big Business.  I can't find any Melvins footage but there are a couple Big Business shows from the 2nd show.

That was an exciting tour!  It was the first time I got to see The Melvins, Big Business, Harvey Milk, and then they brought out David Yow to play Night Goat and two other songs.  It was too great for words.

The Scene Bar was just Big Business, not Melvins.  At the time there were rumours that the melvins would show, but..they did not.  That show was recorded, and pictures were taken.

If a gun was at my head, I'd say the library show was the first big belvins show.

I remember hearing the announcement in early (I think Jan '06).  I immediately bought Head for the Shallow.  I think the Biz might have filled in for a couple of shows before that.  Don't quote me.  I remember seeing Melvins that May w/a Cameron Jamie thing hoping for a four piece but it was Buzz, Dale, and Haino Keji which was also quite awesome.
