They should have toured with Black Flag. Or Ween or the Butthole Surfers, like others have mentioned.

They played a few dates, but it really doesn't count as a tour I don't think.

Aaahh, I stand corrected. I remember a mate texting me to say Melvins and Buttholes are playing together and I thought he was winding me up. Sounded like the perfect evening....

Sheila E.
This is an excellent idea. She could join the melvins during their set; they'd have THREE percussionists. Then Prince could walk on and jam with them while bending Sheila over her timbales.

Yea, as of late they played ATP with them in 08, then a few dates in California.  I'd be all for it though.  As much as I love getting the Melvins only for their shows, you couldn't go wrong with Melvins/BHS.

The Melvins would have to headline though. I take it from some of my trusted sources that it was pretty rough watching the Buttholes do their thing after a standard, blisteringly killer and beautiful Melvins set. I went to the show as well but I wasn't able ( 8-[ ) to stay. Not that I heard the Butthole Surfers were bad live but I would prefer...more than anything...to end the night with the Melvins ringing in my ears. They probably wont play shows together again but I fully support the BHS supporting the Melvins on a full tour.

With that said. I wouldn't mind WHO plays with the Melvins. I mean...it's the fucking Melvins. You can't really go wrong...and despite the "crowd" it was even great seeing them open for Down. The ticket was a little bit pricier and I was literally only in the venue for the hour the Melvins played but nonetheless it was a great experience.

Though I really liked the BB opening act shows a lot. With Porn too. Those shows kicked ass! And I still want to see the Melvins cover some more BB stuff besides Another 4th...

I'd rather be at Dodger Stadium...
