Cracker Barrel is alright.  It's kind of comparable to Waffle House except it's nicer and half of the building is a store.  Most of the stuff they sell is junk but they have a pretty awesome candy cane section.  The food is okay but I think their biscuits are pretty good.  I liked going there when I was a kid because they have a toy section in their store and every table has one of those peg games on it.

Many local southern style restaurants will be better, but some of the local places really really suck too.  With the Cracker Barrel you get predictability on the road.

Pretty close Glen ... havin' back bacon tonight as a matter of fact ... had a cruller yesterday!They used to have Cracker Barrel up here in Canada too. Used to go all the time as a kid ... it was kinda like Poderosa ... thou I don't remember the store part? That a new thing?

Chips? Ever had a "Great Scot Burger"? Used to be a dynamite Scottish fish & chips place in my neighbourhood and they made these burgers battered in the fish batter then deep fried ... Oh man were the good!!

It's mine.  It is a mid to late 80's japanese Burny LPC.  I love the thing.  It plays great.  It wasn't cheap but it wasn't stupid priced either.  I played the 5 grand gibson version today and honestly wouldn't trade mine for it.  Thanks for the kind words.

true. like it or not, it sure beats McDonalds. It's always better if you have the time to go off the highway and search out a local place, but how often do you have that luxury when on a trip?

and I second the "start with breakfast" advice, they gots some yummy breakfast...served 24 hours!

i've never even heard of cracker barrel, which i guess makes sense. there's only two in this state, and three on the west coast in general.
