On a happier note Annum is the best song ever! One of my fav early 90's Buzz moments!

I had the Buzz and Dale solo records years ago as a teenager. I didn't even have a record player for a long time but I wanted those records honestly because the music was by a band I already liked and plus they looked like cool objects to own. I kept it with my few other records (like Mike Watt's 'Ballhog Or Tugboat' Triple(?) Blue Vinyl LP* with all those guests, and a copy of Led Zeppelin 'IV') high in a top floor attic forever above my (genuinely) Les Claypool-signed, supposedly-genuinely-worn-in-Vietnam U.S. Army jacket (given to me by an ex) but in some hazy stupor or another I must've hauled the records down to the crawlspace of the house which of course was only hundreds of feet from the ocean...where of course it later was destroyed in the worst flood in years when the water table rose while I wasn't there. I get home and the sleeves are all mushy and musty and the records were all warped. So of course I kick myself for that stupidity but fast-forward to 2012 and two pretty Sugar Daddy singles walledly and framedly adorn my own abode (the blue/green and red/orange ones - will shoot pix) AND finally I am also luckily in possession of two genuine Buzz and Dale signed Seawhores split 12"s.

*interesting sidestory here- I took this record with me and remember standing on line to get into the Ticketmaster-oversold Mike Watt show at Tramps Cafe in NYC in 1994.  I was among those who were turned away at the door after the show was announced as oversold.  Guests there to have potentially signed this record would've included Mike Watt, Henry Rollins, Thurston Moore, Dave Grohl, Flea, Mike D, and Eddie Vedder. That would be a damn cool record to own wouldn't it.

I prefer listening to all eleven songs the way I once randomly burned them on a single CD, by ordering them from shortest to longest:

You pack the first ten minutes with mostly mean Melvins-y straightforward rockers. Mid-way you get more heavy songcraft and a little drone. And you close out with the amazing Bootlicker-esque "Annum". Much like "Lividity" terminates Stoner Witch, you can absentmindedly continue through your day as the epilogue "Hands First Flower" slowly gets under your skin.

Joe's record isn't exactly bad, but it is tough to hold it up on its own as a remarkable work. Dale wrote good songs, but I can't help wishing for a more powerful vocalist and guitar sound. Buzz's similarly lacks some Croverism, but is hands down the winner in a brawl. Taken all together it's a good variety that feels not unlike Honky or Electroretard.

Is there proof that Buzz didn't play on Skeeter at all? Couldn't he have been a part of the session even if Grohl put it out on his own demo? Either way it's the track that I think of first when I think of these EPs. I give credit to Buzz even if it was only curatorial.

I dig all three for different reasons ... they are all different beasts ... all ferocious and exquisite in their own ways.

This is such a cool idea.  I'm going to try it tonight.
