i saw buzzo's rig on guitar geek (http://guitargeek.com/rigview/597) but it differs alot from when i saw them live about a month ago. He had 3 boss pedals, a yellow one (overdrive i think), a white one (tuner i think) and black one (metal zone i think), and he wasn't playing on a sunn amp, but on a marshall amp. His guitar was ofcourse a gibson LP custom, but i was wondering what kind of pickups he uses in his LP, is there anyone who knows this?

Interesting that this was brought up, and I have most of these answers.
I don't believe he uses a sunn head. Last I remember seeing him with a mesa boogie head on Hwatt cabs. I seriously doubt him using marshalls by how ugly the clean sound is, and if he did then I think hes letting the preamp do alot of the work on the processing. In all honest opinion I don't think he uses a metal zone either for that case. Infact, I think the harder distortion you hear on alot of the songs is just whatever the amp can dish out alone or with the preamp to boost it up a bit. He has a preamp that he does tuning with. His custom gibson LP of course probubly has gibson 100's gold plated obviosly. oooo, it just poped into my mind. I think he uses the ProCo rat pedal a few times during each set to make it more sludgy. Yeah, I'm gonna get some shuteye. I'll post more tomarrow.

He probubly does have an overdrive. I have a very vague memory of seeing something yellow on the floor on his side, so probubly is a Boss OD-1. That black pedal you're talking about isn't black, its metallic grey, and its a Boss DD-5 (Digital Delay). He probubly got interested in it and got one from Adam Jones. Maybe you did see a marshall head, and if he did like I said then he probubly is letting the preamp do a great ammount of processing. He does however have that ProCo Rat pedal setup there tho. If it isn't anywhere around the mic stand, then take a look at the floor where his stack begins. He probubly puts it there like Kevin sets up his stuff.

Well, last time I saw them they played with Tomahawk, and there was the Tomahawk rig and beneath that a marshall Amp, I think that was the amp he used.

And he didn't used any pedals when I saw them.

btw: He normaly uses Seymour Duncan PickUps, but at the moment he uses the original Gibson Stock PickUps.

i think buzz has been using a sunn beta preamp for awhile... the last 3 tours he was using it. the marshall heads are from duanes setup
