Eponymous

I miss Mark D. I don't really like "Gate" (and I haven't heard "Iraq") but his two albums are awesome. And I wish he would record more.

One cool part of Mark D is that alot of the time, he has bass lines, not just locking in with the guitar rhythm.  He could put a fill in a cool spot.  I saw Melvins with Mark D about 15 times, and some of those shows were the best......ever!

buzz didnt seem to have a problem recording the houdini demos before they had mark.
Again,a gorgeous tragedy approaches,in the wake of those thought contained. But sonic reverberations shake the very marrow of the fragile chamber of mans lifeforce, and again the minions quiver in fear,as daylight fails to come, and Melvins walk the battlefield, bored and hungry...

I don't think he had a problem recording Houdini the album without Mark either.

Personally, I think every Melvins bass player has been exactly right for the era and albums they recorded on. I think that each brought something that other bass players did not, could not or would not bring.

I remember giving both Buzz and Mark a hard time for liking the Scorpions backstage at the Roxy in 1995?
Houdini industry show.
I remeber saying something like.." yea I love listening to a German singing in tight spandex".
Mark in a heart beat replied.."I will hold her down while you punch her Buzz"..

they may have been within their rights. early Scorps were awesome.
