Yes it is.

I hope your right BUT i do not see it.

The musical guests are USUALLY "flavor of the month" bands.
I can not remember the last rock band on who did not have a top 10 hit and crossover. :?

true, but we are talking about Danny devito and not some reality show schlepp.  He's got pull, the melvins have status and an album that actually broke the top 200, and snl has been doing a lot more alt bands in the past years.
wrong (again) :microwave:
He's got pull??
what planet are you on?

He is doing free cable bro. 8)

Dr.Benway

Tina Fey looks so much like my ex that if I ever met her I'd want to punch that bitch in the face.

Then I'd want to fuck her.

Just like my ex.

GrimReaper

Screaming Trees - Nearly Lost You (Live @ Letterman)

Bad-ass showing on Letterman, and not flavor of the month.

Why not the Melvins?

SNL AND LETTERMAN ARE TWO DIFFERENT ANIMALS.

hatefulbread

i could see melvins being on conan, maybe!

moose

come on let's pull a Betty White and petition the Melvins!
Well, we'll always have "In the Air Tonight." Will that be your most enduring song?
You know, that song won't lie down. It just won't go away. I mean, there's a Mike Tyson moment associated with it now. It's just bizarre. I guess it has a bit of mystery, a lot of atmosphere, and the drums coming in, pinning people to the wall.

April first

probably the most relevant 2 words in this thread.
"Glen. You can totally go fuck yourself. I have no idea who you are and I really don't care." - Richie Goodtimes

Glen. You can totally go fuck yourself. I have no idea who you are and I really don't care.

Probably the single greatest, most out there performance on SNL was Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band in 1980, playing Hot Head & Ashtray Heart.
Captain Beefheart - Saturday Night Live

They let Zappa on twice, once as both musical and special guest. But that was back when Lorne and the gang did good drugs.
