Might sound kinda weird, but sometimes i get a pounding headache or im in more of a mellow mood I can't listen to heavy stuff. Not even my fav stuff like Hung/Roman, Joan, Anaconda etc.
So what kind of Mellow-vins stuff do you all listen to when your not in the mood.

My short list

Hospital Up
Black Bock
Goose Freight Train
Shevil
2nd half of Roadbull, especially the whistling
Sky Pup (more of a mellow groove than a mellow sound)
With Teeth (not so mellow, but it calms me more than any other melvins song)
"Sweet Melinda, the peasants call her the goddess of gloom.
She speaks good English and she invites you up into her room."

(((O)))

You can't go wrong with The Bootlicker, that one's just so chilled out yet still so groovy in that classic Melvins way we know and love. Goose Freight Train is a great example tho, the title track to POTRE is another too i think.

My favourite one tho!

If I get a blinding headache, I take two aspirin and listen to Shit Sandwich (side 1) three times. Headache's always gone by then.

There's some great mellow-ish tracks on Honky.

When I saw them play Shevil earlier this month they did this absolutely crazy noise thing with Jared yelling "You fucking cheats!" and double drumming madness.
Hail, not fail.
PS:  fuck him.

Hospital Up is an excellent song. I don't get how people can say new Melvins sucks, when you've got absolute gems like Hospital Up.
I also love PGX3. It really is a beautiful song. I remember when people on this forum first heard The Bride Screamed Murder, there were posts saying they would love to listen to a full album with that vocal style... and I completely agree. I've always loved Up The Dumper. The whole Bootlicker album is just gold, it's probably in my top five favorite Melvins alums. Black Bock, Skin Horse, and Tipping The Lion are some of the best songs they've ever done, as far I'm concerned. There's some really good underrated stuff off Honky, especially They All Must Be Slaughtered. I don't know if I would consider any of the Pigs of The Roman Empire stuff mellow, but there certainly is a lot of great stuff there.  Goose Freight Train is a really great tune, as is Shevil. I've always dug Lividity but after seeing them live earlier this month, I now realize just how cool that song is live (seriously), especially for opening a set. If they did a whole tour opening with Lividity going into Skweetis, the crowd would go nuts.

Forget it buddy. I'll hand in my membership for good if that comes true!

Well actually i suppose the vocals arent THAT bad but another song remotely like the one those title i dare not utter will have me doing backflips of rage.  :x :x

So thats a "maybe" then from me.

Yeah dude, sounds like you need to sit down with the Bootlicker

The bootlicker grew on me big time when I finally got a real copy of it and digested it all in. Compliments the Maggot perfectly.
