Origins of Melvins Song Titles Thread
« on: September 19, 2011, 09:27:01 PM »
So I know I've seen this discussed, debated, and investigated with various song titles by various members over the years ... Brain Center springs to mind. Not sure if there was an actual thread or just discussion about this in others ... last night I came across one ... and so now, volia! Origin of Melvins Song Titles Thread.

Rat Faced Granny - In Drugstore Cowboy David (Max Perlich's character) is at the door of Bob's (Matt Dillon) place. Bob asks him if he's alone ... David replies "No, I brought my Ratfaced Granny along".
It was a big night out on the town for the Id and the Reptile Brain ...

I remember hearing that Billy Fish was a comic strip character in Britian. In Viz I think it was ... maybe Jules or )))((( could confirm that one?

Indeed, Billy the Fish is a long-running half man, half fish goalkeeper in Viz.

Although not exactly song related I remember one time Buzz called Ozzy a "buck toothed mummy".  I thought that was not only hilarious but would be a great Melvins song title.  Later on I saw Homer call Mr Burns that on an episode of the Simpsons.  The episode was from Season 2, "Blood Feud".

Dear Mr. Burns... I'm so glad you enjoyed my son's blood and your card was just great. In case you can't tell, I'm being sarcastic. You stink! You are a senile, buck-toothed old mummy with bony girl-arms, and you smell like an elephant's butt.

"In baseball, pink bats are limited-supply baseball bats manufactured by Louisville Slugger for use by select Major League Baseball players on Mother's Day, first introduced in 2006 in association with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization. " (Wiki)

POTRE came out in 2004 ... I always thought it was in reference to female genitalia ... a snatch, a pussy ... a pink bat.

I was just watching FORBIDDEN PLANET the other night, and yelled out loud (to myself) : AHHHH! MELVINS!!!
I think we should put it in a jar labeled 'melvins'
