Is Ian back yet??

Thanks! Still feel like I lost a lot of detail due to my missing roller  :?

What do you guys think? Should I add a color, or leave mono-tone? I don't want to put too much into it because it was just a practice block; I wanted to stick with something simple, and familiar. Still want to make the best of it though, because it was several hours of work, and my wrists are still sore! That Haze must have hands of steel.

If anyone out there is interested in this particular print, pipe up now before I forget it and get to work on a new one. All in all, a very fun and interesting process! Looking forward to messing around with it more.

Oh. One more thing....
Dumpy? Please don't call me Ricky

So, I made this for my facebook profile, it says "cartoons, chocolate milk & rock 'n' roll!!". Yes, I know, it's very silly.

That's a nice Melvins pic you choose. I'm picturing that picture of Homer lying on Coady's Buzz's and Dale's laps. That would be good.

These are just fabulous!!  :o
I'm astounded.

At the same time they just make me even sadder that I'm stuck in a situation where I cannot dabble in carvings.
I started three linos four years ago just to try what it is like, also inspired by Haze. But, my family situation still has not given me a chance to finish even one of them. And two of them are no bigger than 15x20 cm

At least I have your and Haze's art to marvel - and hope that some day I get properly inspired and back to practising again.

Sure, but in that case the donuts on top of Homer's belly would have blocked Buzz's face.

Thank you, Godflesh. Definitely not my normal medium when making art so I can also say I was inspired by Haze. The idea of being able to make the same thing over and over again without exact replication was intriguing to me.

The first cut I did was wood-and probably turned out the best. My second and third tries were the two headed alien and the Melvins cut seen above, which were both lino. Wayyyy easier to cut but a little trickier to print. Printing is the hardest part, actually, because technical aspects and application are so important.  Word of advice - don't be cheap with the ink. Get the good stuff which comes in a can, and not a tube. Once you get the first layer on (so important that it is applied very evenly!) and let it dry, a little bit of ink will get you a really long way. Made lots of mistakes so far but that's all a part of the learning process!! I actually got a new roller and made some new prints shortly after posting these - having a good one was essential as it picked up a lot more detail. If you spend the time carving, you want people to see what you did, right!?!?!

Good luck on finishing yours, as I'm sure you will someday!! It is a real fun way to slice up some fingers ;)

Not Melvins inspired artwork but perhaps vice versa.
This might have moved Mackie towards the Freak Puke art.
