I really hate wearing ties. So people have to force me to wear one... and now those who know me know what that means - the Ultra-tie.

So they generally don't bother now, so everyone's reasonably happy

easily one of my favorite songs, very much in the vein of their covers of "theme", "sacrifice", "way of the world" * (all part of that same peel session)... what seems at first a very simple riff is in fact a powerful and emotive one. where gluey and ozma still showcased the melvins as a slow-fast-slow odd time-sig power chord riffing monster with serious ass-kicking goofball drumming, this ("bullhead") era sees them exercising buzz's "songwriter's" side (anaconda, exorcism.. a.k.a. how to make the minimum maximum). lorax adds that deep, heavy aspect while dale keeps the song running and groovin'.

* and "love canal" and "someday".

Melvins - Euthanasia 7"

Melvins - Tanx
Label: Power-Fist Record Co., Power-Fist Record Co.
Catalog#: P.F. 41302 CRO-MO., P.F.-41302
Format: Vinyl, 7", EP, Unofficial Release
Country: US
Released: 1991

Let's discuss this song and why it's either great or not so great. Every week I will attempt to psot another random song from their catalog. The next song of the week will be posted 3/10. Hopefully this will be a good discussion. There are enough fans here that can contribute something to this. If the Melvins see this it would be cool to hear their comments on it???

I do know that there is a bootleg DVD show back in the Lori Black days floating around that features this song. I like the riff of this song quite a bit. I mess around with it on guitar from time to time.

Melvins at their VERY best, you feel you are bombarded with everything you like of the heavier side of music with this track. No one is even near them on this one.

love Jared vocals on Euthanasia during one of those endless residency shows

Wonder why this never made it on to Bullhead?

First time I heard it was on the salad of a thousand delights dvd.  This is a great black flag/sabbath mesh I've always thought....revulsion too.  They lyrically seem to be more in the flag vein though.

This is in the top 15 of melvins best songs.
Can't wait to see what's next.
