those are prolly the only songs from the pre atlantic albums that kinda bore me.ligature has a boring riff and the sacrifice cover just doesn't sound right. i REALLY like the original version of sacrifice tho

wow, i love that kinda stuff.

hmm... i dunno i guess Spread Eagle Beagle, Skweetis, barx da rockin m, i dunno i cant really think right now

excuse me....   well I got the specifics fucked up, either way those are the two cuts I do not like.  That's not bad considering I can't think of anything else by the melvins to add to the list.  As to all you melvins historians... thanks for the specifics and I am relieved that buzz wasn't directly attached.  Also, could anyone elaborate on the zz top reference...  Im missing that one.....

Listen to the "Fandango!" album.

Metalhead Cow

It was an actual song that they turned backwards,
maybe you'd like it if you heard it forward:

Holy shit, this is cool.

Metalhead Cow

Quote from: Metalhead CowHoly shit, I didn't know that Mark played Pick It 'N Flick It!
Does Buzz have the ability to play it?

Look at it this way, on one tour I think in about '96, the Melvins did two sets each night, the first would have Mark play guitar and Buzz play bass...makes you wonder about who was really leading the band through the Atlantic years, huh?

:?
On Stag, it says that Mark does the slide guitar on Black Bock. Have they ever played that live? I've never seen that listened on bootleg sites. It they haven't, it might be a little hint that Buzz can't do the slide guitar part.

So what's your opinion on Clipping Roses? 8)

its in my top 10. no. maybe my top 15. either way, i think its a powerful song. i like when the 3rd part (that is similar to the first set ov vocals) kicks in and dale goes nuts. i love it.

wait.... isn't this also known as "easy as it was"?????????

Uhh.. no   Easy As It Was and As It Was are the same songs. I think you've mistaken the song. Go put on Gluey Porch Treatments and skip to track 15 (Clipping Roses). Then tell me what you really think of the song.

deejuks2

umm. yeah that's what i've been listening to. number 15, or number 32 on the cd version. i have a live version of "easy as it was", and it is the same song. hmm.....

it's the one that says "TRISH! Your Broken heart's a piece of this!", right?

deejuks2

EASY AS IT WAS:
Trish! Your broken heart's a piece of this
You hold it up, a vicious twist
I guess you're better than your love
You knew that, Easy as it was
Come on
Give me something special, something that I need
She makes a try, a simple lay-o
Gathered through the power sesho
So I do hear your words
Peel the skin away from my eyes
And look in She's all the things that you put away
So it's inside
They slip it in
I can hardly mix in
Without it all, your sin
Make the monkey crawl, my love
So you will let me know.

No, you're wrong! That's track 16 on the CD! Track 15 is Clipping Roses, and it's a completely different song!
