I was just about to say "what the hell is this?" until i read the vid desciption.

"Amphetamine Reptile's ART Division (OX-OP), teamed up with artist DALEK and HAZE XXL to do a bizarre project called A Purge Of Dissidents (2007). Weirdo space monkey animations by DALEK soundtracked by HAZE XXL. Several Melvins accompany him on this track. The finished project was released as a BOOK/CD/DVD. It's still available on Ipecac."

Great.

After completely forgetting about this project i had a listen through the episodes again last night. Most of which i find a bit dull but i have a question. I know Melvins are supposed to feature and obviously you can hear Dale drumming on a few of the tracks but was that it? Did Buzz or Kevin or whoever else get involved? Also anyone who owns this release did Dale drum on all of it?

Most of the drumming was Grant Hart and Dale (Dale put in about a third).

For real-time birthing info of these three singles (there were to be four!), go Next Door (the AmRep Bored) and search for the following subject:

The music was released by AmRep on three singles, then Ipecac rereleased the music with a DVD of Dalek's animated artwork AND the book with the art in it. I urge you to buy it. You can get it for around $25 easily enough from European sellers.

I can't honestly say that upon first listen i would consider it purchase worthy but i'll give it another try regardless. Thanks for the info Jules.

It's much better with the DVD! Anyway, it's all on YouTube so you don't have to spend a penny!
