wonder what happened to MadLove.  I think that album White With Foam is brilliant.  That was released back in 2009.  I suppose, at this point, MadLove must have been a temporary outlet for Trevor Dunn's creativity.

Did anyone here ever see them live?  I would be curious to hear if they pulled it off in concert.
If anyone has information about this band I would gladly read it.

I saw them in Ithaca, they did a pretty small tour and Dunn said it was a disaster. They were really good live tho, Ches Smith is a phenomomal drummer. I was hoping for a follow up album too but it's looking less likely. Does anyone else have Trevors solo album on Tzadik? Its all film scores he did. It's worth picking up if not.
The name of the disc is Four Films

I bought it when it came out and listened to it a bit. I haven't put it on since though, which is sadly what happens with most music I buy anymore.

I saw that MadLove tour also, in Buffalo @ Soundlab. Maybe 75-100 people at the show. I thought they were great live. The keyboard player was previously in Charlie Hunter's trio for a few years, Erik Deutsch? Then after Madlove I saw him in Shooter Jennings' band at a free outdoor show. Weird.
I'm assuming Dunn meant the tour was a financial disaster, probably averaged 50 to 200 a crowd on a good night.  Music and band seemed to be in fine form though.

Yeah, he said they were ripped off by a couple promoters and that it just in general wasn't a successful tour. I bought a shirt that I've never worn just because he said he needed to sell them to make gas money to get back to Brooklyn. I really liked that cd, I still bust it out once in a while. There either is or should be soon a new Moonchild disc as well

Jellyfishing

Saw MadLove at some shithole in Cincinnati on that tour with a crowd of maybe 20 people. The weather was awful and I felt bad for the turn out but the show was excellent. They didn't seemed bothered by the turnout or weather, although I don't think Sunny left the van before or after their set. Trevor seemed in good spirits...I bought him some beers  8).

I remember reading something that he didn't have 'time' to be in MadLove anymore despite it being his band and they were going to continue on without him, whether that happened or not I'm sure.

thanks to all for your replies about MadLove.

Trevor Dunn has a new Q&A page on his recently revamped website. I asked him about the any future recordings with the Melvins and he replied with this:

YOUR QUESTION:
08/08/2019 13:39:04 One Mean Cockfighter

Hi Mr. Dunn. Are there any plans in the work for you and the Melvins to record or release any more music?

MY ANSWER:
Cockfighting is cruel.  No plans with the Melvins right now but Buzz and I have done some duo recording and will likely tour in 2020.

Yeah and they finished recording it a couple of years ago too.

Oddfellows is a lot better if you include the M.E.A.T. single. not as good as the first two, but closer to that level than without those 2 songs.
