I'm reading a 1996 Mammoth/Atlantic press release for Stag and the 1996 tours and twice it mentions the upcoming Interstellar Overdrive 7-inch (yes, 7-inch) on Man's Ruin.

Was this ever pressed (even as a test press) as a 7-inch single?

Does anyone truly know how many were pressed? I originally thought there were 1500 but elsewhere on the net including Discogs it says 5000. It also shows as being released under 2 different catalog numbers here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man's_Ruin_Records_discography

I might be wrong but MR-137 looks like a potential re-release that never saw the light of day. I'm pretty sure there never was an MR-137 in the end. Don't know about the quantities.

I ended up with two copies of Interstellar Overdrive back in the day. One was sold as is, the other one was inside a brand new copy of Stag - sold together for the price of Stag only. I never knew if it was the record shop (Plastic Factory in Birmingham) that did that or if that's how some of them were sold worldwide. My Stag has shrinkwrap on it, but I can't remember if it was sealed with the 10" in or not.

never liked pink floyd and don't care for the cover either.

i dig psych and prog but pink floyd is disgusting. maybe if i was tripping in an elevator with them on the muzak. then maybe i would enjoy them.

otherwise, crappy boring psych for future yuppies.

Yeah! With a trippy interlude for approximately five minutes in the middle.  :disagree:

i just don't like pink floyd. im suprised, but kinda not at the responses.

i will say that some of syd's songs are kinda sick and twisted and interstellar overdrive is def a classic acid freak out, but everything after that which involves david gilmour( i really dislike his guitar playing, unimagnative and too normal) is boring, besides the song "Wish You Were Here", which is pretty, heartfelt and my fav song by them while sounding like a Stones ballad.

Ok. Live at Pompeii is decent. great sound a vibe through.

too add to this i love pretty much every cover The Melvins have done including their recent cover of Great Balls of Fire. Kiss, The Ramones, The Beatles and everything else. it's all good.

That's cool, borislikes. Thanks for bumping these Melvins album threads.
