I'm curious as to if it's alright to record the Melvins during this tour or if I need to get approval from certain forces. The show I'm looking to record in it's entirety is the one in Greenville, SC. If anyone can help me out, just let me know.

pretty sure its up to the venue. lots of people have been posting videos of stuff in the Melvins shows forum that they have been recording.

someone correct me if im wrong.

Personally, the band has always seemed cool with it. I shot full video of a show in 2002... just asked Buzz beforehand.. he didn't give a shit at all. Then like 4 years later my friend shot a whole show... at the same venue. A lot of the time it's up to the band but sometimes it's up to the venue.

I've filmed a ton of Melvins shows and the biggest problem will be with the venue. Call them and ask if filming is allowed and be sure to mention what kind of camera you'll be using. Some venues don't allow tripods, some do. Some don't allow cameras with removable lenses, some do. Often a problem will be that a venue will say its cool, but then the staff will say no. Its really a crap shoot. I've found that being polite and cool, and sometimes trying a little persuasion has worked too, but not very often. Good luck.

Thanks to everyone for their replys. I'm also being told by someone on facebook that I should get in touch with their PR agent as well and I have no idea where to start on that one. Does Buzzo walk around before most of the shows or is it a hit or miss if I wait to ask him?

If you get there early (super early) you can probably find Buzz.  He's a nice man.  Show him respect.  Don't go up to him doped on the drugs or boozed on the hooch.  Good luck amigo.

That's BS. Like Idle said, your biggest issue is getting permission from the venue.  Do that, and you should be good.

i filmed them once on their tour with BB/ghostdigital in providence, RI.  i met buzz before hand and asked permission, he said "doesn't bother me, you might wanna check with the venue, though."  i did no such thing, figuring that if anyone gave me shit, i'd tell them the band gave me permission.  no one said anything.

It's not bootlegging if it's for the love of Melvins, it then becomes concert documentation!
I got the shits real bad.
