The Melvins are back & touring yet again, with their newest rendition of the band - also known as MELVINS LITE. These dudes are keeping alternative music heavy with their newest release (+ 18th studio album), FREAK PUKE. Not to mention, these guys are also in the process of breaking a world record (by Guiness's standards at that!) with their current 2012 U.S. autumn tour --> 51 STATES IN 51 DAYS. Kicking the tour off in Anchorage, AK [9/5] and ending in Honolulu, HI [10/25] - Melvins Lite will be wrapping up the tour with a new title for themselves; the first and only band to tour the entire United States (including D.C.) in 51 days.

With King Buzzo on vocals and guitar, new addition Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Mad Love, Fantomas) on upright bass, and Dale Crover on Drums - the band is nearing their 30th anniversary and felt the need to do something crazy in order to celebrate. I checked out their show here in Chicago at Double Door [9/27/12], and was able to score an interview after the show with new bassist Trevor Dunn and original drummer Dale Crover!

In this exclusive OVERCAST HYPE on-site interview, these cool dudes share their views on rock music in today's world & discuss the ever-changing variety in their influences from 1993's successful+nostalgic HOUDINI to 2012's most recent+continuously brilliant FREAK PUKE. Trevor sheds some insight [+ humor!] regarding the dynamics of the new lineup, Dale provides fans & aspiring drummers with a couple of influential names to write down, & last but not least - these dudes give some additional/exclusive info regarding their strong attempts to break a world record in this humorous OVERCAST HYPE on-site interview.
