Dale seems to get much of the attention on this board, are these the fruits of The Italian Stallions unlimited love for the worlds best drummer, or is it due to the fact that Dale is a likable fella, a star who is still down to earth? Or are there other reasons?

Honestly Dale is Just That cool of a guy.

I met a Drummer back then I was about 17, and This Drummer friend of mine was one of TWO of the BEST drummers I personally know.

We played some melvins tunes on his Ghetto blaster taking a Jam-break in the Garage.

We talked a little about Dale, and Mitch Added...yeah, Dale is a good Drummer because he does exactly what he needs to Do, When he needs to do it, and nothing more.

That about sums it up for me.

I guess that plus the charisma, the legend. Buzz has been in focus earlier on, now the focus is on Dale. Hail Dale!

dale just seems to be a really easy going and cool guy (besides being the best drummer to ever walk the earth).
i like buzzo too, but have to admit that his bitching about drugs, drunks et all get boring sometimes...
dale just gives a funny and down to earth impression and i like that a lot.

They are funny in both their ways, but Buzz is in my book just as humouristic as the best of stand up comedians. He could have stage shows ala Henry Rollins, and he would have done it so much better.

I'd love to sit down and have a few beers with Dale; Buzz, not so much.

Honestly, Lose your best Friend to a heroin overdose and See if you can get through the first five minutes of TRAINSPOTTING without Smashing the tape to smithereens.

I hate dope. and you would too if it was in your face all the time.

same with all drugs and booze.

Deal with Drunken Fans every day for Like half the year on average and see if you still have nothing to *BITCH* about.

you guys dont seem to realize that in the case of Buzz and Dale, that one hand washes the other.

where is day without night.

Im sorry but you guys really dont have any real perspective. and this conversation is over for me.

Metalhead Cow

Buzz and Dale are two people I have immense respect for-actually they're probably the two musicians I have the most respect for. I guess Buzz has somewhat of a reputation of being a debbie downer, and I can understand people may get tired of him bashing drugs and alcohol in interviews. You know, a lot of people smoke pot and drink casually, and I think it's easy to forget about how much exposure people like buzz has likely had with drugs over the years (I'm not saying he's done them, but certainly been around many junkies and witnessed some shit). Most people aren't professional rock musicians, especially in the sludge/doom/stoner/grunge/whatever "scene" where drugs are going to be very common. Look what happened with Kurt Cobain, Lori, and Kevin (and probably others in his life) Buzz acts very stoic and bulletproof but I'm sure that shit has affected him, more than he likes to typically let on. Every once in awhile he'll spill out some of his sensitive side in interviews, like when he talks about Kurt Cobain seriously for example. You know Kurt considered Buzz to be his mentor-Buzz was like Kurt's big brother-and to then see him end up in a downward spiral with drugs and suicide-and there was nothing he could do for Kurt...that had to have had a lasting effect on him. And he dated Lori, right? So they were pretty close and he saw her get carried away with heroin until she just couldn't be in his life anymore in any way. That's depressing. Jump ahead some years later-I really get the sense that Buzz and Dale thought they had finally found the perfect bass player with Kevin-great player, but also a band member he could be friends with, like Dale. And then Kevin's alcohol abuse came into play. Buzz has stated how upset he was about losing Kevin. So I think Buzz has certainly earned his right to have a negative outlook on drugs/booze. And he's stated that people should be able to do whatever they want, unless they don't fuck with someone else, so it's not like he believes people shouldn't be able to make their own choices with that stuff.
