why?

shouldn't be that easy to learn the Melvins stuff

yeah, I've got mixed feelings on it.  on one hand I hold pinkus in the highest of regards.  I'm a former BHS'aholic.
but on the other hand.. none of his bass playing sounds anything like anything MELVINS have ever done... especially his latest sound with Honky.

I'm not saying there isn't hope. I'm just saying my expectations are up in the air.

I think it will just be different (is that a bad thing?), plus he is a showman.  He will get to be noisy which he does not do with Honky.  He has been laying down some funk with Carson, horn section and all, so anything is possible.

I told him to have Buzz come up and play Lung Punch, then play the Pinkus EP and take a break.  Then come back out and rock the Melvins set.  Who knows.  I doubt it will suck dumps he is a professional afterall.

I would not be worried about whomever Buzz and Dale invite along to play in the band. HAVE WE EVER BEEN STEERED WRONG? Seriously! So they might need some extra rehearsals, Jared may need to show him some bass lines - big deal! We don't sit around wondering how Buzz and Dale are going to keep up Trevor Dunn. How many years has Jeff Pinkus been playing bass? I am MORE than sure it will be fine. I hope they use this as a way to stretch out into some new areas that they haven't before - they tend to do that now with the different people they play with.

Good lordy.

On the contrary Melvins songs are not that complicated.

they are more rhythmically challenging than technically. especially the older styuff.
