I haven't listened to the album yet but would people be talking about 'the album review system being broken' if they had have given the Melvins a good review?

Personally I couldn't give two shits what NME or any other publication thinks of an album I do or don't like.

anaconda

I usually just go to All Music to get listener reviews.
No fluff, no 'pro' music reviewers, just the straight shit!

FartLips

I don't read reviews unless I want to find out more info on a movie.

Bigval

I suppose the only reviews I read are from regular Joe Blows (reviewers from publications have skin in the game) and usually only after the fact. Say after I've watched a movie (rarely after listening to an album) I'll go to Amazon and see what other regular people thought of it.

Snivlemdotcom

Many reviewers write reviews because they can't write songs.

(the) flutter nuts

I got the shits real bad.

acid policy

we can't boycott these professional review outlets because they are a great source of publicity for music. musicians should just do interviews leading up to releases, instead of doing the advanced copy/review deal. that would decrease early leaks, too.

it doesn't matter that much, anyone who's read more than one pro review knows not to take them seriously, but i've found people are commonly susceptible to suggestion.

Tres Cabrones is great. i wonder if Dale did drum overdubs on some songs

He did a few small parts here and there. He didn't have to do much, mike is a great drummer.

If anyone wants to read my review, here it is:

I haven't had much time recently so I did it pretty quickly after only one listen, although I am familiar with a lot of it.

Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group) review of Tres Cabrones:

That was a good review.

Lou Reed speaks from the grave as well.

(the) Razor

Added it to my Google Streaming Library AND bought the CD.

That means Melvins get some money from Google every time I play their song as well as their cut from the CD sale.  8)
