-Odd time signatures
-Their CD's are packaged with the song list on the front and the cover on the back
-Buzz's hair is an evolving experiment in itself
-Non traditional song structure not the verse chorus verse...etc
-Aluminum guitars, what's more metal than that?
-The special holiday releases are one of my personal favorites
-They aren't the first band to have two drummers but they definitely do it their own way
-They must be experimental with their recording techniques, I appreciate all the different textures they give their tracks
-They haven't painted themselves into a corner creatively like so many bands do by sticking to a trademark sound
-Very experimental merchandise: fetus, can of meat, two headed dolls, 5 inch record, so much more it surely has it's own thread

Buzz's made up words (ie: stee, ticka, antitoxidote, etc.) used in nonsensical sentences (ie: rap a tee and tell it take no des)

Going from fast punk to slow and heavy overnight.

-20 minutes of silence at the end of Honky

-Using the back of the cd case for the album cover.  This is actually great because there's more room for art but they don't do it for every release!

an album i still to this day don't give enough credit
maybe because i quit tweakin
but in further retrospect compared to many avant-garde artist,
what the basis is that the melvins taking that into a heavy fucking chaos fuck!
