State Tree of Arizona. State Bird, the Cactus Wren. It actually makes a burrow in that spiky assed thing and lives in it! Crazy fucking Bird, too! Sorry, the mighty Saguaro can only survive in AZ and part of Mexico. As for Tucson, that's a tiny place two hours south of Phoenix. Phoenix = World Class City, Tucson = tiny place two goddamn hours south of here!

Allston, MA-Brighton Music Hall-I'm there! I just saw Suffocation play there and I saw Boris there two nights in a row last year. I'm surprised he's not playing Paradise Rock Club. I guess it would be too big of a venue for a solo act.

Its definitely not the worst part of Detroit, but it's still not great. The venue kinda sucks too. It's always hot as shit in the place and the ventilation is horrible. You should drive the extra two hours to Grand Rapids to the Pyramid Scheme. It's one of my favorite places to see a show. Great area, tons of kickass restaurants, and more breweries than you can handle.

smalls is not downtown.  it's in an ethnic neighborhood.  I wouldn't say I feel 100% safe and completely comfortable wandering around in Hamtramck.  but at the same time I have been to Smalls more than a dozen times and never had a single issue.  it's fairly easy on/off the highway as well.

also... IMO Smalls is more personal.  yes it's hot and crowded normally.  but the room where bands play is roughly the size of a 2 car garage.   

plus.. small's is where you are much more likely to spot a banana.
