Apparently, HBO's 'True Detective' series features the Melvins' 'A History of Bad Men' along with the following other artists (all hand picked by T Bone Burnett).

• Bo Diddley, "Bring It to Jerome"

• Captain Beefheart, "Clear Spot"

• Handsome Family, "Far From Any Road"

• The Staple Singers, "Stand By Me (When the Storms of Life Are Raging)"

• 13th Floor Elevators, "The Kingdom of Heaven (Is Within You)"

• Black Angels, "Young Men Dead"

• Boogie Down Productions, "Illegal Business"

• Lucinda Williams, "Are You Alright?"

• Grinderman, "Honey Bee (Let's Fly to Mars")

Sweet!
I hope it plays when the killer guy walks through the field in his underwear wearing a gas mask and holding a machete.
Decent show too, it's a touch too chatty, but next episode looks good.
And Alexandria daDDario looks amazing if u know what I mean.

She speaks good English and she invites you up into her room."

I haven't heard any Melvins songs yet on the show anybody know what episode? I got offered a job on that show but I was committed to a different show. It is a really cool show though, Alex is super fine and she is a sweetheart. I worked with her on Sea of Monsters.

Would kill that scene IMO. Besides it didn't.

Melvins song will happen at the strip club.

What is that song, the new "Pour Some Sugar On Me"? If you partake in the "Gentleman's Clubs", could you please let me know if this ever happened in real life? I'm a little skeptical, since I haven't had much luck evangilizing the Mighty Melvins for two decades. People just have shitty tastes, for the most part. But I've gotta commend HBO. They've been featuring a lot of great music since the Sapranos started.

I was thinking about giving the show a chance. Many of my friends have told me that it is really good...

Now I have one more reason.

The Bloated Pope

Saw 3 episodes, never heard the song yet  :( Very good show by the way

 you hit the nail on the head!

I would be really disappointed to see it used in a stripping scene.

It's just gotta great dirty grind to it ...

I use it in my routine all the time ...

It really ramps perverts row up ...

By the time it gets to that creepy vocal howl (2:25 - 2:32) those drunk ooglers are just chomping at the bit for my pee stained y-fronts!

And I always give 'em what they want ... I'm a generous fellow like that.
It was a big night out on the town for the Id and the Reptile Brain ...

like a brick wall, like a dream waiting to be!

Chomas

They just played it, man that was fucking awesome!!!!!!!

jacques

Great song but historically inaccurate considering the setting of the show is in 1995 and the song played, A History Of Bad Men, wasn't released until 2006.

Thought the show jumped back and forth between the past and present. I haven't seen the episode (or any episodes) though so I'm just going based on what I've heard.
Hail, not fail.
PS:  fuck him.
