I dig Haze and his atrwork. I have several of the old 7" Night Goat singles. I'll gladly shell out $$$ for the new one.

I really like that version much better than the Houdini one, even tho the only difference is the bass tone and the mix, I feel the single version is much darker and hits harder.

I pity the unfortunate souls who haven't hear the single version.
Personally, I believe the album version doesn't do this song justice, at all.
The 7" version I consider the definitive one. It's so good.
The 2005 live version is a MONSTER, comes in a close second.
If you haven't heard any of those two, you haven't heard Night Goat. That's what I think.
After first hearing Houdini a couple of times, I didn't remember Night Goat at all.
Then I heard the single and it all came to me.

Well said. It's the only release where you Preston is listed as "Salty Green" I really like that version much better than the Houdini one, even tho the only difference is the bass tone and the mix, I feel the single version is much darker and hits harder. I remember getting it when it originally came out and being like, "Holy shit, Melvins Just raised the bar with this one!" I really hope the reissue has a different B-Side.

Yeah, I agree it's got a real stark, dark sound. I also hope the b-side is different too.

Nice! Everyone seems to want a different bside than AWD ... yeah, it'd be nice to hear some other stuff on the flip ... but don't toss AWD ... one of my fave Melvins covers they've done ... hell yeah, they nail that one!
