I love the vocals last night when he would get really high and soft almost like a little girl . Listening back on some older Melvins albums I'll have a better ear for whom is doing what vocals. I also like the fact that he plays out of a little like 10inch or 12inch speaker. Mic'd up to the house sound. Must be nice to tour with a guitar case a suitcase and a little amp. Besides the dudes with him and the merch. I liked the show. But a I really liked how early it went on cuz I'm getting friggin' old, you guys.

short version:   I did "the right thing"


long version:  had the ticket long since purchased.   but  that July 2 date was giving me a bit of a lingering sick feeling.  turns out there was something to it.          the wife got the 2nd off of work and made plans for us to go to northern MI for the holiday weekend.   I reminded her that I had a ticket to a concert for that night so maybe the 3rd was a better day to head north.  you can imagine how that was received.       I was given a choice.  I could go to my concert and put off our trip north or I could cancel my concert and proceed with my wife's plans.         

hence the inner battle began.


go to the concert and pay an awful awful price of spending the rest of the weekend with a pissed off wife who would be sure I would suffer at every turn.     or cancel the concert, swallow my anger and be an obedient little bitch. because of course if I cancel the concert I will not be allowed to show any emotion at all over that.


seeing as I have to sleep with my wife and I do not have to sleep with buzz I went with option B.


the pain will linger for years.  deep down inside.


so please allow me a little nastiness over the course of the next couple weeks as I deal with this.   I may have my moments of lashing out.  it's not you.      it's me.            as with all things time will heal.

seeing as I have to sleep with my wife and I do not have to sleep with buzz I went with option B.

And this is why I keep a large wall calendar in my office, and whenever I make plans, or want to go to a show, I put it on there.  If the girlfriend wants to do something, or make plans, she checks out the calendar.  It's saved us both a lot of arguing.  To bad that it was only after a lot of arguing that I put the calendar up.
