To be honest, I've never tried to play an LP picture disc in my life. I have a bunch of them too. I know that doesn't make you feel any better, but I do know the pain of getting a damaged record that won't play.

Weird, mine sounds fine. I also have the trilogy, and it sounds great.

Cleaned your stylus lately?  I know that when mine gets dirty, it sounds awful.

What do you mean by "crummy"? a more precise description would be better. It is well known that picture discs can't deliver the high quality of a fine black vinyl pressing, specially when we talk about the first pressing of a good old album, when the entire recording process was analog.

Black vinyl>Coloured vinyl>Picture disc
cartoons, chocolate milk & rock 'n' roll!!
Fuzz is love.
Foot fetishism means love, because, it's the magic of feet odor... Long live depravation.

Its a Known Fact! that Coloured Vinyl is not as Good for pressing quality as normal black vinyl. It wears out faster and sounds poorer generally.

Its a good Rule of thumb to check your Stylus, use another Record to compare, it could be tracking weight problems or a worn Stylus.

It would be a real good idea to replace your Stylus Just the same.

Define *bad*

in terms of Sound quality or characteristics compared to Say the CD VS your LP.

Also in terms of sound Level too.

I have tried other records and they sound great. I have another copy of freak puke that sounds great. The bad copy has a ton of pops and hissing. Brand new needle on a sl 1200 mk2 everything is balanced. The records that sound the best are old skinny puppy and grateful dead original pressings.

You're obviously mistaken. If it's not Scottish, it's CRAP!
