Picked up a copy at Jackpot records.  Since the packaging doesn't contain any description of the contents there were several available as people assumed it was a grab bag sort of thing. I hope they continue to do secret releases like this.



Steve Turner was DJing while we were in line and Green River happened to have a release today so my wife asked him for an autograph after he wrapped up.   Super nice guy, great taste in music too!

How did you know you were buying a Melvins/MC5 split without opening it? I'll look for this tomorrow. Hoping if I find it it's this release and not some other random Atlantic split 7". Is there a catalog/UPC number on the shrinkwrap? Please tell.

From this thread.  I don't believe there are any other splits that look like this.  It doesnt even say Atlantic anywhere on the outside.  There is a bar code on the shrink wrap on the back: 0 81227 94751 4

They had some other Atlantic singles that  were the same concept (same song performed by two bands) but clearly labeled as something other than this.

If you're in the boondocks, check online record stores that are selling leftover stock.  Chances are good that you'll find one.
